Philippine Karma Kagyu Buddhist Society, Inc. conducts regular group practice on different Sahanas and Ri Wo Sang Chhod Puja on the ff schedules:

Sadhanas - every Friday night at 8:00 pm
Ri Wo Sang Chhod Puja - every last Sunday of the month.

For those who are interested to enter peacefulness of mind training, you are welcome to contact our dharma center.
Lama Kunzang with the sanghas will perform a daily puja on 21 Taras, Medicine Buddha and Offerings to Protector Mahakala to help those who need blessings to be freed from the suffering of misfortune, sickness, sudden death and others. Each puja bears great blessing for those who can generate pure faith to three jewels. Anyone who interested to join may register with PKKBSI sanghas Tel# (632) 714-5553 or send email to admin@kagyu.org.ph and we will forward it to Lama Kunzang. The registration is free. If one would like to support this project either sharing informations with others, helping the sanghas to perform the said activity, or make donation to the dharma center in any form or in any amount; we will appreciate it very much.

December Puja Schedule"Update"

Puja at the End of Lunar Year

Philippine Karma Kagyu Buddhist Society Inc. is having a series of dharma activities starting at the end of January. This is the tradition Gutor Puja that prays to Buddha and Bodhisattvas as well as the Protector Mahakala to help one to obtain favorable conditions to practice Dharma in coming New Year. The said puja contains various prayer that supplicate lineage gurus, Buddha, Yidams and Mahakala, request their blessings to help remove all negativities and obstacles that we have experienced in the past year and to ensure that they do not carry over to the coming New Year. It also helps sentient beings to prevent suffering of sickness, to increase merit and wisdom, to magnetize good luck and fortune, to create the cause of good rebirth (that gives one beauty, wealth, and birth place where the holy dharma flourishs), and to fulfill one's virtue wishes. So the Lama and Sanghas of PKKBSI open its invitation to everyone to participate this very special activities as schedules listed below:

January 31, 2010 (Sunday) at 3:00PM - Riwo Sangchod Smoke Puja

February 5-6, 2010 (Friday-Saturday) at 7:30PM - Six Arms Mahakala Puja (Lama and sangha will do the prayer wholeday long, participants may join the group prayer on 7:30PM)

February 7, 2010 (Sunday) at 3:00PM - Gutor Puja - Mahakala Tsok with Chilue Puja. During the precious year, even we don't experience harms during our daily life, we still may experience bad lucks. This negative condition leads one to the sufferings of mind. Prayer to Mahakala with genuine faith and good intention will remove these negative conditions and bring us peace of mind which is thr roof of all happiness.

If one who is interested to participate the Chilue Puja, please submit your registration on or before February 5, 2010 together with some of your personal belongings like hairs, finger nails, and/or worn clothing. February 14, 2010 (Sunday) at 3:00PM - Dzambhala Puja. This day is known as Chinese and Tibetan New Year. Prayers to Dzambhala will help remove bad luck and welcome the favorable new beginning as well as bringing in good fortune .

February 16, 2010 (Tuesday) at 9:00PM - Hanging of Lungta (Wind Horse). lungta contains the prayer and mantras of all Buddha and Bodhisattvas that send the blessing through the blow of wind. This practice is done on the auspicious days of the year in order to magnetize good luck. If one wishes to join, he can sponsor the Lungta which is available in the center.

Kagyu activities with Tsewang Tashi Rinpoche

Tsewang Tashi Rinpoche was born in Eastern Tibet. He is the nephew of Very Venerable Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche. During his early years, he followed the foot step of his uncle and become a monk. He travel to Nepal and stay with Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche whom he studied. He completed his three year retreat at Yanglashod, a holy place where Guru Rinpoche subdue demons and granted great blessings to those who can practice dharma in the said place. It is also where Tenga Rinpoche's Retreat Center located.

Tsewang Tashi Rinpoche became renowned through his meditative and ritual practice. He received his title "Rinpoche" through His Eminence the 12th Situ Rinpoche.

Tsewang Tashi Rinpoche arrived Philippines on December 5, 2009 and ready to give a series of teachings and empowerments as follow:

on December 8, 2009 (Tuesday) 7:30PM, Milarepa Tsok Offering

Philippines Karma Kagyu Buddhist Society has made a requests to Tsewang Tashi Rinpoche to perform a Tsok Offering to great forefather of Kamtsang Kagyu lineage - Jetsun Milarepa. Milarepa who known as the hero of Tibetan Buddhism through his courage in abondoning his negativity. He studied with Marpa Lotsawa. He follows his teacher even enters eight great hardship and several minor hardship trainings without fading his faith. He practiced dharma as solitary yogi in the mountains and caves in Tibet. He achieved Buddhahood within single lifetime. His main desciples are Gampopa and Rechungpa who also achieved the perfect state of enlightenment and benefit countless of sentient beings.

One who is interested in joining this puja may bring his own offering. Whoever wishes to make connection to the great master Milarepa will never fall into the three lower realms.

On December 11, 2009 (Friday) 8:00PM, Mahakala Puja

Mahakala is one of the main deity of Kagyu Lineage. He is the compassionate emanation of Cherezig in wrathful form. Mahakala grant blessings to the dharma practictioners who do not commit negative actions. He is vow to protect dharma practitioners even help them in accumulating wealth for unselfish usage.

Whoever interested in joining this practice may bring his own offering to the protector.

On December 12, 2009 (Saturday) 7:30:00PM, Long Life Buddha Empowerment

As human life is precious and uncertain, Yama, the lord of death may approach without any expectation. Death is not the end of sufferings for one's life, it is the beginning of another suffering in this samsara. Even for those who perform virtues actions, without strong life force, one still can't accumulate enough merit and achieve realization within this life time. That's why the compassionate Buddha imparted this long life practice to help sentient beings liberate from sufferings.

For those who would generate bodhicitta to sponsor this pija, the minimum fee is Php 1,200.00 only. For those who encounter financial difficulties, your genuine faith and sincerity to dharma practice will be the best offering to Buddha Amitayu.

On December 13, 2009 (Sunday) 4:00:00PM, Manjusri Empowerment

Bodhisattva Manjusri is known as "Jampelyang" in Tibetan. He is one of the perfect Buddha who achieve Buddhahood ahead of Lord Shakyamuni but humbly lower himself and be called bodhisattva like Cherezig. As Lord Buddha's teaching that Manjusri is one of the eight bodhisattva who with the Sword of Discriminating Wisdom. He vows to liberate all sentient beings else he won't be enlightened. Whoever establish connection with Lord Manjusri and even praise his name, chant his mantra will sure increase wisdom.

On December 18, 2009 (Friday) 8:00:00PM, Green Tara Empowerment

Tara, whose name means "star" or "she who ferries across," is a Bodhisattva of compassion who manifests in female form. In Tibetan, Tara is known as "Dölma" (Sgrol-ma), or "She Who Saves." Tara is also said to be the manifestation of the Buddha of Compassion, that's why she grants one's virtue wish swift like lightning. Tara practice is very common to the four major schools in Tibetan Buddhism but also carries a very strong blessing. Sanghas in Philippine Karma Kagyu Buddhist Society usually perform the twenty one tara puja every morning around 9:00AM. This time Tsewang Tashi Rinpoche will perform this empowerment puja to invoke greater blessings for those who wish to participate.

Sponsoreship of this pija will be minimum fee is Php 1,200.00 only.

On December 20, 2009 (Sunday) 8:00:00PM, White Dzambhala Empowerment

Due to the degeneration time, people suffers from the negative actions committed in the past. Poverty and hunger triggers the thought to do harm to others. It may also result to war and killings. Compassionate Buddha imparted the teachings of Dzambhala (God of wealth) to help people free from such sufferings. This practice is transmitted for thousands of year. For one who can generate bodhicitta to practice dharma in order to help others, Dzambhala will bestow his blessing to help the practitioner an made him feel comfortable on the path.

White Dzambhala Puja is the regular practice on every Friday night starting 8:00PM at Philippine Karma Kagyu Buddhist Society. If one can obtain the empowerment from qualified teacher, he may receive swiftly as the blessing received is from the lineage and all Buddha itself. If one who is interest in sponsoring this empowerment, the minimum contribution will be Php 1,200.00 only.

on November 9, 2009 (Monday) 7:00PM, Philippine Karma Kagyu Buddhist Society will celebrate a very special Buddha day called "Lhalab Duechen", Lama and sanghas of Philippines Karma Kagyu Buddhist Society will offer a puja to Lord Buddha and the sixteen Arhats. Whoever interested in joining the said puja may bring his own offerings i.e. flower, foods, etc. in order to accumulate merits.

According to Buddha's Teachings, those who do positive action will accumulate 10,000 times merit, likewise if one one commit negativities will earn negative karma 10,000 times too. If one can participate prayers or group puja will plant the seed to ultimate happiness in the future.

on August 23, 2009 (Sunday), Philippine Karma Kagyu Buddhist Society will perform a fire puja at 3:00PM. The purpose of this offering is to help liberate all sentient beings who are still alive or pass away already. Specially for those who are trapped in the intermidiate state of death and birth. Fire puja also help one to practice generosity and generate wisdom.

Why throwing lots of foods to fire is dharma practice? There are other ways to practice generosity by giving aids to the needies, but fire puja ritual helps the practitioner to cut through the attachment of materialism. Lord Buddha once taught that all forms are illusory. If one can abondon the two extremes wil set at middle path which is the ultimate Buddhahood. Performing fire puja is not only to accumulate merit, but also to generate great wisdom to achieve ultimate happiness.

Continuation of puja is on August 28, 29 and 30, 2009 (Friday to Sunday), there will be a three wholedays Amitabha Puja to Liberate Death. On August 28 and 29, puja starts from 3:30Pm to 5:00Pm (first session) then 7:30PM to 9:00PM (second session). Through the compassionate power of Lord Amitaba Buddha, it will guide those either just pass away or already passed away long time ago to his puja land called "Dewachen" or Great Bliss. When one reach the Dewachen, he will never experience suffering again.

On August 30, 2009 Monday, there will be a conclusion puja on Amitabha Puja to Liberate the Death from 3:30PM to 5:00PM.

The puja mentioned above will be perform by the Lama Thrinley Donyod and Lama Yeshi, if one is interested to join may register and submit the name of their love ones or relatives who are just passed away or passed away long ago. If one wishes to pray for those who are ill and near the final stage of human life, he may request lama to include in the prayer to invoke blessings to them too. Drupon Tenzin Gyurmed Rinpoche's Puja Schedule "Update"

Drupon Tenzin Gyurmed Rinpoche is now in Philippine Kagyu Center and agree to impart three days empowerment and blessing puja as per members' request. He is one of the highly respected retreat master in Gyaltsab Rinpoche's Monaster in India. His short stay will definitely benefit all beings here in Philippines.

On August 4, 2009 Tuesday 7:30PM, Rinpoche will perform Medicine Buddha empowerment. Lord Buddha manifests as Medicine Buddha in order to liberate sentient beings who suffer from sickness both physically and mentally. This puja is very popular at sutrayana and vajrayana school. Whoever could participate will surely received the great blessings from Medicine Buddha himself.

On August 5, 2009 Wednesday 7:30PM, Rinpoche will perform the Amitabha Initiation. On the "Buddha told the doctrine on Pure Land of Great Bliss at West" phrase the aspiration and merit of Amitabha Buddha, one of the Five Buddha Family, said whoever can recite his name, phrase his merit, recite his mantra, recieve his teaching, he will be reborn to Amitabha's Pure Land of Great Bliss (Tibetan: "Dewachen") and never experience the sufferings of samasara.

On August 7, 2009 Friday 7:30PM, Rinpoche will perform the Tara Initiation. Tara is the compasionate manifestation of Lord Avalokistesvara (Tibetan: Chenrezig). Many great dharma masters in the past receive his blessing and help to reach the supreme realization. This practice is very common in all schools but also very powerful. Even in modern day, lots of practioner upon visualize Tara, recite her mantra, or pray to her one-pointedly receives her vleassing and help instantly.

Drupon Tenzin Gyurmed Rinpoche will only stay in the Philippines for three days. Whoever wishes to establish connection with him should not miss these activities.

July 5, 2009 (Monday) - Puja Schedule

Khenpo Chhogdrub of Tibet is now in Philippine Kagyu Center and ready to impart the teachings "Four Common and Uncommon Preliminaries" known as "Ngondro" from July 10 to July 12 year 2009. As late Kalu Rinpoche said that although Ngondro is preliminary practice, it is more profound than "Mahamudra" - the "Great Seal" (known as the highest teaching of Kagyu School). Lots of Rinpoche, Khenpo, and Lama repeat this practice several times in order to keep their dharma foundation solid, and maintain the meaning of vajra - the unbreakable.

On July 15, 2009, Khenpo Chhogdrub is performing a long life puja called "Tsedrub". human life is hard to obtain and easy to perish. If one do not use it wisely, there will be no end for the suffering of samsara - "Cycle of Existence". A real dharma practitioner understand life and no fear to death. Without enough time to accumulate wisdom and merit, there will be delay to achieve the goal - "The Ultimate Realization" (Buddhahood).

On July 16, 2009, Khenpo Chhogdrub is performing a puja called "Tseyang Gugpa". This puja is mainly to invoke good luck and bring us prosperities. In today's time known as kalpa of degeneration, there are too many disasters and problems resulted from our common negativities. This was already predicted by Lord Buddha, Guru Rinpoche and other Mahasiddhas. In the 84,000 teachings of Buddha, this puja is to help sentient beings free from suffering of poverty, bad lucks, etc.

On July 17, 2009, Khenpo Chhogdrub is performing the combined puja of White and Green Tara. Tara is the compassionate emanation of Lord Chenrezig (In Chinese known as Kuan Yin). It is a very powerful puja. Whatever virtue wish you made, they will responce swiftly.

Khenpo Karma Chhogdrub is one of the renowned scholars of Kagyu School. He is the Khenpo of Yutok Gompa in Tibet. At the age of 13, he abandon this worldly life and become monk. He studies Tibetan and Chinese grammar as well as other learning. That's why today he can read and speak Mandarin quite fluently.

Khenpo Chhogdrub received his getsul vow at the age of 18 years old,then he enter shedra to pursue more advanced studies and practice. 4 years later, he achieve the academic degree of Khenpo. He received gelong vow at the age of 24 from H.E. Tai situ Rinpoche at Palpung Monastery in Tibet.

Although Khenpo Chhogdrub started giving dharma teachings at five different monasteries in tibet from the age of 25-29, he knew that knowledge is infinite. He entered Serta Larong Monastery to study more at the age of 29. Four years later, he began his retreat 3 years 3 months and 3 days retreat at Yutok Gompa. He accomplished the training at the age of 36 and become full pledge master.

In Vajrayana tradition, Master is the foundation of achievement. At the age of 37, Khenpo do understand and follow the step of others who have genuine faith in dharma and to their master, he travels from China to India and reach Dharamsala to follow His Holiness the 17th Karmapa - Urgyen Thrinley Dorje and request deeper and more profound study on Kagyu Teachings.

Khenpo now is 42 years old. He still stays with His Holiness the 17th Karmapa and seeks for his guidance regulary.

Due to his pure faith and great act, H.E. Gyaltsab Rinpoche invited him to Rumtek Monatery last year and to bestow him the honor as qualified master. H.E. Tai Situ Rinpoche also requested him to accept the sacred responsibility of taking care some Kagyu monasteries in tibet and be their retreat master, and His Holiness the 17th Karmapa entrust him to guide and teach the younger generation of sangha and dharma followers.

May 25, 2009 (Monday) 6:30PM - Apology

We would like to apologize for not making this site up-to-date due to several reason mainly is that our resident lama - Lama Kunzang suffers from dengue and has been hospitalized for a while. Fortunately, he is recovering now and preparing for the birthday celebration of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa Urgyen Thrinley Dorje this June 2009. For those who are interested to join may get in touch with the center to acquire the details of the activity.

February 25, 2009 (Wednesday) 6:30PM - Celebration of Tibetan New Year (Losal)

Lama Kunzang and sangha will perform a Long Life Buddha (Tsepamed) Puja at 6:30PM to invoke blessings for all sentient beings. Those who are interested to partipate may bring their own offerings to the three jewels in order to generate greater merit. Offerings may in any form regardless of its value. A simple dinner celebration will follow.

February 25, 2009 (Wednesday) 6:30PM - Celebration of Tibetan New Year (Losal)

January 28, 2009 (Thursday) 9AM - Hanging Lungtha (Wind Horse)

Hanging Lungtha is Tibetan tradition to send away bad lucks and welcoming prosperity. Lama will bless the lungtha and together with the dharma brothers and sisters to hang the prayer flags of five elements. Prayer flags are also available in the center.

January 26, 2009 (Monday - Chinese New Year) 8:00PM - Dzambalha Puja for wish fulfilling (Dzam Kar)

Dzam Kar is another compassionate emanation of Lord Chenrezig to help people free from poverty. He specially help those dharma practitioner to be worry-free from daily livng needs. Through the compassionate mind of Lord Chenrezig, this practice is like the wish fulfilling gem (norbu) that helps one who is with genuine faith and kind heart to have whatever virtue wishes he made. Registration is free. Just bring your own offering to the three jewels.

January 24, 2009 (Saturday) 3:00PM -Mahakala with Chi-lue Puja

This puja help people to subdue demons who want to harm us even to take away one's life force. Mahakala, who is the compassionate emanation of Chenrezig who vows to bring all sentient beings to the Buddha's Pure Land which suffering will never be heard. Chi Lue is compassionate practice with special rituals. These two joined practice is very auspicious. Due to so much thing needed to perform this puja, Philippine Karma Kagyu Buddhist Society requests the kind support of Php 300.00 as registration fee. For those who are interested to join, please submit name, and some personal belongings for puja use. For details, one may check with the teaching of Lama Kunzang on Chi-Lue.

January 22 - 23, 2009 (Thursday and Friday) 7:30PM - Six Arm Mahakala Puja (Gutor)

Six Arm Mahakala (Chakdrukpa in Tibetan) is the wrathful display of Chenrezig's (Kuan Yin in Chinese) to help sentient beings who suffer from different kinds of problems either created by oneself or others. Six Arm Mahakala together with his five attendance usually help sentient beings in bardo and liberate them to the Buddha's Pure land. This practice also help people to magnetize wealth and free from poverty. Puja. Lama Kunzang together with the sangha starts from 9am to 7:00PM. Group practice will start at 7:30PM. Registration is free. Just bring your own offering to the three jewels.

January 18, 2009 (Sunday) 3:00PM - Riwo Sang Chod Smoke Puja

Riwo Sang Chod is a terma treasure hand down from Guru Rinpoche himself, the benefit of doing this practice can remove octacles caused by the karmic debt to spirits and demons. This is a regular group practice of Philippine Karma Kagyu Buddhist Society every last Sunday of the month. In order to bring prosperity to the New Year. Lama Kunzang and sanghas set it on January 18 and welcome all those who are interested to join. Just bring your own offering to the three jewels.
